CURRENT CONCERNS
Working on 2012 budget.  Doing my best to reduce
TAXES

The CARIBOO REGIONAL DISTRICT (CRD) currently provides approximately 99 local government services for taxpayers including fire protection, emergency planning, solid waste management, land use planning, and invasive plant management as well as ensuring access for residents to library and recreation facilities.

AGGRESSIVE AND BARKING DOGS STILL A BIG PROBLEM THROUGHOUT AREA D

New RCMP website that lists address or locations of where RCMP units have dismantled grow ops. This is open to the public to assist them in avoiding places for purchase or rent.

BEST PART OF 2008-2011 TERM
It has been a privilege to work with the communities in their quest to identify projects leading to the beautification and/or promotion of their community, assisting with identifying funding sources, and attending meetings on behalf of or in support of community members as they successfully transform a community dream into a reality.

GREATEST CHALLENGE of 2008-201
Learning of the existence and working within the Central Cariboo Joint Committee.  Although there are some that say this is a very good way to conduct business, form relationships between municipalities and regional districts.   I do not agree.   The good news is participation is voluntary.  Thus I plan to seek every opportunity to legally withdraw Area D taxpayers from established "joint" committee functions (agreements) and to not participate in any further functions unless a thorough consultation process has been conducted throughout Area D  AND the majority of Area D taxpayers say it is their desire to be financially involved with the function via a bona-fide (traditional) referendum.
I will do my best to avoid Area D participation in the Alternate Approval Process (AAP).
